“I love reading and….” that was always what I wrote when I encountered the questions, ‘What are your hobbies?’ Or ‘What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?’ – This was all before I started buying novels for myself. Some months ago I landed on this treasure bookshop that I had always known was there but never really went to check it out. So on this chance visit of mine, like any other self-respecting female I was drawn to the Francine Rivers Section. That month I emptied my pocket there. Took me 2 weeks to read those books. Next month I went back and found Francine was sold out so I went for Karen Kingsbury and Max Lucado books. They were 4 books: 3 Karen and 1 Max. 2 Weeks later I was back, for the next book – you see unsuspectingly I had landed on a series and i couldn’t wait to read the next book!! Needless to say, I could see my banker was frowning at me from way off.
So this month i have rediscovered an old love. Knitting!!! Some may laugh but it is a really perplexing exercise. At first, I thought I could do it all on my own, boy was I in for a ride!!! I redid it 4 times before conceding defeat and calling up an expert.
So the next day I sit at her feet and carefully watch her every move. That evening I went back home thoroughly excited!!!!
I tried out what I saw K Guru do, but alas, it wasn’t working!!
After 2 hours of trying I finally got the knack of it.
Now I knit will humming songs from my latest fav: Brooklyn Tabernacle’s album I’m Amazed. Songs like I bless your name, Gloria and Thou, Oh Lord.
I just can’t wait to see the end product.
Here is a glimpse of my masterpiece in the making.
