Correction vs Negative Energy

24 May

It’s a fact, no one needs to tell me – I hate being wrong. For some reason, i hate it with a passion. Ever since I can remember I was always right. Or some how managed to be the one with the right answer/opinion – how weird is a life like that.

Today my question is, how can you tell the difference between a negative critic and correction?

Do we sometimes wrap correction up in the name or negative criticism? You know, because you do not like what is being said about you – you decide to shun the correction down as rubbish from a hater. How about trying route A, it might be shorter, you seem to like to use that phrase a lot, makes you look like a child, if we go down this road we may never get back up.

How about the flip side? Soaking up the negative criticism like a sponge in a swimming pool, in the name of correction. You are not A, you will never be B – Look at you, trying everything out, you will never get it. Pipe down and pick one. What’s with you and all this A.D.D. I do not understand you – you are supposed to be this, you are supposed to do that. So and so did this and so and so did that.

My question remains: Can you tell the two apart or is it just a matter of opinion?

IMHO, the critics that try to build you up or show you how you could be better instead of those who only point out what you are doing wrong. Someone once said it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.
If someone can explain why, without upsetting you and whilst showing they genuinely care, then perhaps you out to listen.
On the other hand, the best mirror tends to be those that don’t care a jot for your feelings so YMMV.

      LOL, IMHO? YMMV?
      I’m lost?
I think you and Petesmama are driving to the same point but i like this analogy…it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness..

        IMHO: In My Humble Opinion
        YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary

Don’t put out what you don’t want flowing back to you.

I think the difference is that the negative critic usually has no explanation and never offers a solution. The correcter offers mostly a solution, not an in depth run down of your problem. COrrectors give you food for thought; critics just make you feel insecure and bad about yourself.

Tell me, what do you think?
