Sojourning From Myself… (Part Three)

22 Nov

Location: Mulago. Time Check: in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Mary stabilised later that night.

Bless her heart. She was like a child looking around trying to take everything in. Then when she found out she was in Mulago – LOL, she gasped and awed at it all – “So this is where they take everyone when they are sick”. (Guess this is the part where i mention that it today will be here 3 week in Kampala).

She turned to mum, question after question flowing from her, so who opened for you Aunt? Ate Carol, where is Carol? (it turns out – Carol is what she calls my sister.) Did the beans get burnt? How did I get here? When are we going? Let them let us go – We need to go home, there is a lot of work. Who is going to prepare water for Tata-Carol? Who is cooking?

Medical History: She had got a similar attack many years ago.
She said that early Friday morning, she remembers feeling weak and falling down a small set of steps. She says she called out for Carol, but she didn’t come. When she gathered the strength to get up – she walked to the kitchen and decided to dismiss the incident. She looked for something to eat and then proceeded onto the garage. Where the weak feeling returned, but this time did not go away.
