Olympic Aches

The art of swimming, just like riding a bike can never be forgotten, once you get the hang of it; you never really forget.

Took 2 days off, one of those days i dedicated to training for the olympics…so i get up early one morning, butterflies in my fingers and march off to the training area… the first thing i noticed: the pool had no bars and no steps into or out of the pool…

Sat at the edge for close to 20 minutes debating on if i should just kick the water all day, i think it was the look in my sis eye that made me jump in..stood in one place for another 10 minutes (I know, ridiculous – but this was the first time i was swimming in a year or two: Water isn’t supposed to be that cold)

Anyway so i get around to swimming and playing or playing then swimming – when we had to leave, i just couldn’t get out of the pool, tried to do what the kids were doing, hoisting themselves up using the edges as support…

Now 24 hours later, me old bones r screamin murder!!!

    Socks!!…bambi some one did not tell you you have to stretch a bit before attempting such a fit? Like all active things, you need to prep the body a bit.

    But yeah, I’d taken a while without seeing water and when I went into the ocean, I could still remember how to avoid drowning

    @ Emi, Yay!! You got the socks!! Noo No one told be about that preping thing…In school i used to thing the PE teacher was just out to get me.

    If you do not go back and swim, the pain will get worse before it gets better. But you will survive.

    i love swimming!
    u had a crappy PE Teacher…ours is always stressing the importance of streaching b4 any kind of exercise…it can develop into a bio lesson too sometimes.
    lol
