Monday has never been my best day of the week, that is only because i think in the original scheme of things Monday was part of the weekend but because ’em employers were looking for a way for us to put in more hours they just had to cut our weekend short… It a Conspiracy it tell you!!!!
Any way, World AIDS Day Monday was a bit different, I attended the No Excuses Dance off at KPC and it totally rock. Man those kids rocked. The whole thing was to get different dance teams to come and dance it out in a competiton and as the show was going on the MC’s would tell the audience (which was in the age bracket of 15-25 mainly) about the new HIV stats, about the stigma, and also about taking a stand.
I didn’t stay for the whole show (another story altogether), but I was around for the first part. In the first part the 2 groups would get bounced: they would be judged on synchrony, creativity, costume, and crowd reaction. The curtain raisers were Kid Power from one of the Watoto villages… They danced to that song that was the last on in Honey (:-) Sorry don’t know the title) To say the least they had our vote till we learnt that they are not part of the competition.
My next highlight was Sword, a group that hailed from KPC at North, Jeez !!! Number one they came on stage with Orange Pumpkin looking masks, Black outfits and gloves. Yah I know a bit creepy! They must have danced for 2 minutes tops and then they walked off stage, leaving the rest of us gaping and saying we want more!!!!! Yup and they got the most applause. Am not yet sure who won the competition but I will be informing you as soon as i find out.
So it’s Tuesday morning and i’ve got the remnant of a migraine roaming around in the left half of my head. I have 3 meetings today, am trying to decide which I should chop and which should have priority. My body feels like that of the Princess in the Princess and the Pea, I’m in desperate need of a massage and i keep getting the same message from MTN 4 times!!
i feel like just stealing away in a corner, reading my Tracie Peterson, ear phones plugged in and shutting out the rest of the world.
