Country Lovers Only!!!

Saturday morning found me in a very happy mood. I woke up smiling and proceeded to smile my way around my room 🙂 I felt very ‘countrish’….I was in the mood for some really old school country. You know, the kind that makes you reminisce about those good ‘ol days.

I skipped to the CD Rack, didn’t mind the webs and the dust or the mommy spider that was glaring at me for wrecking her home. I felt anticipation go up my spine as I looked at the names: Crystal Gayle, Olivia Newton John, Smokie, Dolly P, Kenny R, Don Williams and the rest. I settled for Smokie and Olivia, I rushed off to the music device and inserted in her CD.

Thats when i heard that song that used to put me to sleep (Don’t ask how I remember it)

In the corner of the bar there stands a jukebox
With the best of country music, old and new
You can hear your five selections for a quarter
And somebody else’s songs when yours are through

I got good Kentucky whiskey on the counter
And my friends around to help me ease the pain
‘Til some button-pushing cowboy plays that love song
And here I am just missing you again

It was our song, it was his song, but it’s over

Goose bumps all over!! Now i couldn’t wait to play the Smokie, I opened the CD in all excitement only to find it empty. I wasn’t going to let that sway me. So I piled up the Alan Jackson that I already had and got into my own world.

Thats when I heard the sound of a horn blaring really loud, I remembered, I had an appointment.

My ride was none too amused that I wasn’t ready.
