She dragged herself out of bed, wondering if today would be the same.
Dragging her feet she made her way to the mirror.
There is was staring at her, ‘What did you expect?’ She chided herself.
Today was supposed to be different, she had wanted it to be different, she had prayed and willed it to be different. Instead nothing had changed. As she felt her way round in the darkness that had become her world, she reached for the sink and started her daily routine.
The rest of the day was a blur, but she was used to that. Living her life on the sidelines, letting everyone else take control and move for here – No wonder she never liked playing chess. She kept hearing gorgeous and beautiful wherever she passed, but she just let it slide. She didn’t care anymore – her miracle never came that morning.
It was all she could do to keep from letting the mascara run amok down her, she sighed and took a step toward the rest of her life. The sun was on her now, she dazzled them with her signature smile and walked on.
Still the voice couldn’t be quiet, half way through the day – it screamed: “I WANNA SEE IT ALL MYSELF!!” – She excused herself and in the privacy privacy of the bathroom, she reached out and lightly touched the mirror.
Her reflection stared sightlessly back at her, mascara staining her white gown.
